Miss Fashionable

This title is no longer one just I gave her. She got an award at school today for being the Most Fashionable....oh boy!

Not because of her award by any means, but we (aka Daddy) gave in and let her get her ears pierced finally. I say finally. It seems early to me age wise, but she's been asking since before Christmas off and on, but for the last two months daily. I finally told her to work on her Daddy and it worked.

This was her in the cushy chair with dots on her ears......looking a little nervous.

The place I took her was amazing. They totally cater to young girls, so as she started to tear up after her ears were pierced the lady not only rubbed some numbing stuff on it, she also covered her in glitter free of charge. Check out the sparkles!

And a side view so you can see one of the new earrings! She picked out diamond flower posts. Too cute, I must say so myself!

I am trying to download pictures of her from her award ceremony this morning, but the other camera is not cooperating.....but I will keep trying grandparents I promise!

Another thing I am hooked on.....

OF COURSE anything I am hooked on has to do with THIS girl:

She is my model....or the only one I do these things for anyway. I COULD make them to sell, but knowing me I won't....instead I make them for MY girl....and I know she is wearing something 100% original. The decorated flip flops is my newest thing. They literally take 5 minutes to make and look super girly. I don't exactly know what sort of model pose this was, but it's cute and the shoes look great on her!

A few others I made last night while she was changing clothes for the 5th and 6th time.

And, this morning before school.....she chose to wear a pair of the flops I made, but it wasn't enough. She 'needed' ribbons in her hair to match the shoes because "that's how Cinderella wears her braids." Yep, I did it....

Oh girl!

There truly is never a dull moment around this girl. I love everything about her. Everything from how helpful she wants to be.....even how organized she wants to be, her new thing is to organize the silverware in the dishwasher while I am doing dishes. Who knew the spoons would only get clean if they are washed next to other spoons....?! She is still very much our girly girl, BUT she doesn't mind working or getting dirty either.....just refuses to STAY dirty for long.

Steven was building us a storage shed beside our house (Love my handy man) and she was 'helping' him by raking up leaves and trash and putting it in the wheel barrow. She ended up filling it all by herself....and it kept her out of harms way too (aka Daddy's high powered tools).

I get told all the time that I dress her SO cute. I can truly still say we just provide the clothing. She has her own style and opinion and no fear of making her opinion known. She LOVES to change clothes for no real reason. She wore this dress to school that day with shorts and sandals, then she came home and saw some boots we'd ordered her so she disappeared into her closet and came out wearing this.....

And, a few minutes later she informed me she wasn't a cowgirl anymore....now she was a tap dancing princess. Dull moments?! Not in this household!

I think if her outfit looks "too plain" for her she will add something to it to make herself "stylish"....case in point.

We went to a store this past weekend to spend some coupon money on her sweet Daddy, but instead he found these shoes for Brooke. She LOVES them because Daddy picked them out, they are colorful and they have a high heel.....oh boy. She was acting like it was tough to get them on.....

And, I took this picture because when I came in from unloading the truck she had the nail polish all set out for me to paint her toes and fingernails so they would MATCH her new shoes and of course the colors had to be in the same order.

This morning she asked to wear a pretty fancy dress to school. My motto right now is to let her wear pretty much whatever she wants as long as it falls in with school guidelines and is weather appropriate because she outgrows stuff so fast, we might as well get use out of it! She put the dress on, walked out to look in the mirror and said "Aw Man!" I asked her what was wrong and she said "This dress got way shorter!" I had to remind her that the dress didn't change at all, but her legs can't seem to stop growing. She said "Momma, I have tried to stop growing so fast like you and Granny asked me to but I just can't do it!"

Joyland.

No, I don't have any actual proof that they are still doing work at school right now....I only have proof of the fun they are having on their reward days! Lots of pictures from our inagaural trip to Joyland Amusement Park this past Friday. OUR first trip because I have managed to avoid it for the last 15+ years.

It was a chilly morning, some kids forgot their jackets (including mine), so this sweetie shared her jacket with Brooke then when she was cold this was Brooke's remedy.....

According to Brooke this was her favorite ride. It was basically a ski lift that goes over the entire park.

I made Brooke try a few things.....and she did not like them once they started. The tilt o whirl...."made her tummy feel icky." Oh, and I was one of the few parents there, so I got to keep up with three girls. Hadyn, Emma and Brooke.

Before the little roller coaster ride....when it was all smiles.

During the roller coaster ride.....no smiles. I think it was because this little one was LOUD and rough....but I didn't force any more on her THIS time because I had to ride with them individually on the bigger ones and refused to leave two little girls by themselves while I rode!

Yep, I had to pay to get in this place....of course I had a LITTLE fun too! It's fun to act like a total idiot! ;o)

Me, behind my three girls for the day, practicing my parade cheesiness while on the train ride.

And again.

Noisy cars...

Noisy Fire truck.

Dark picture, but I have so much fun hanging out with my own child and her friends.

LOVE this sweet girl!

Play Day at School.

School in all of its craziness is winding down. Brooke has under 3 weeks left of her Pre-K year and I think we are all ready for a break from the schedules. I am so used to having MY girl to myself for HOURS a day, that although I have found plenty to keep me busy while she is at school....I am ready for a break. Ready to play again without having to worry about if we're going to be late to something! Brooke has been asking ever since the lovely time change, if she can just stop going to school. She does not like having to go to bed while the sun is still up, loves her friends, but wants them to come over to play instead.....sounds like she is ready for summer break too!

Anyway, on to the cute pictures of yesterday. It was their Play Day at school. They played outside in the 90+ degree weather all day. After lunch however they got to play on the football field a bunch of games organized by the high schoolers. Keep in mind, they missed NAP time for this....which normally would be a huge deal, but combine heat with 18 tired kids....and well, I think us moms had more fun.

Before the first race began. Brooke with one of her favs Connor.

Waiting for the sweet....not so organized high schoolers to tell them what to do.

Did I mention it was hot AND windy?! I am in the picture....under my hair and Brooke's, ha.

Talking with Kayleigh. She loved her cowgirl hat, and I loved the shade it provided.

By the time a friend took this picture, it was all I could do to get her to DO the activity....she was hot, tired and ready to find some air conditioning. I am pretty sure I was telling her it was almost over in this picture.

Tug of war....which there are other pictures to prove that us mom's got in on the fun too, but I couldn't get them to load, so I will spare you. Fun stuff though!

This picture was taken by a friend right before Brooke had enough.....she was done. So, I gave her a piggy back ride to our golf cart where we drove the block home. Rough life wouldn't you say?!

More craziness to come!

Out of the mouth of a child!

I hope you can read it, but if not I will interpret below. This is one of the things Brooke brought home from school today for Mother's Day. So cute and funny!

She SAYS:

-my favorite food is vagels (interpret as BAGELS because I brought some mini bagels home last week).

-my favorite thing to do is to watch the news (It's clearly not, but I seem to always ask her to let Momma watch a few minutes of the news in between games).

-my favorite place to go is to Rockfish (I do love it, but we haven't been in AGES)!

-I like to watch THE NEWS on TV (this must be due to only cartoons being on TV when she is awake).

-When I am at school my mom always rides her elliptical (yep, that's me for 6 hours...ha!).

-My Mom and I always go to Fazoli's (for close friends they KNOW this one's true or when we go to the City now).

-My Mom is Vicki, she lives in New Home with me (hmmm....imagine that?).

-I love my Mom because I like her.

-My mom loves me because she always loves me.

-My favorite thing to do with my mom is play games after dinner.

Melt my heart and make me giggle!
