Homecoming Fun!! Busiest Day Yet!

Reason #367 (just to prove there are a lot of other reasons too) to love living in a small town. I absolutely love that Brooke gets to experience things like Homecoming week, Homecoming parade, and all the other crazy fun that goes with it....and she gets to experience it all while interacting with the high schoolers she looks up to as well.

This years Kindergarten parade float was "Wipe Out Whiteface" and they were wearing their swimsuits, beach towels, sunscreen and of course crazy hats with their leis and smiles! The shouted "WIPE OUT WHITEFACE" the entire time while the song "Wipe Out" was playing.

The hats might have been a little big and heavy, but they wouldn't dare gripe about them because of all the fun they were having!

Our sweet neighbors Wendell and Peggy driving one of the couples for the Homecoming Court....had to include them!

I am not going to bog the blog down with the entire parade, but it was great fun.....my parents picked up so much candy off the street that I don't think we're going to have to buy anything for the trick or treaters this year!

I did however, include the float that won.....it was awesome and even came with a brave Daddy dressed up just like Captain Jack Sparrow.....second grade:

The back of the float, making an antelope walk the plank.....HA!

Odd picture I know, but Brooke won for Pajama Day during Spirit week, so she was pretty happy to get handed a big candy prize in front of the very packed gym.

AND, that night we went to a spaghetti dinner to support the Junior class....and of course we had to go to the awesome football game, so here was our favorite cheerleader before the game!

TONS of fun, but we are all recovering today from a later than normal bedtime.....and by the way New Home WON!!

Homecoming Fun, Day 5 - Black out the Antelopes!

This is just the beginning of a fun filled, hectic day!

Parade, pep rally, and homecoming football game all to come! TGIF!

Homecoming Fun, Day 4 - Group Day

The Kindergarten classes decided to dress up as Cowboys and Indians for Group Day, so NATURALLY this girl picked being a COWGIRL!

Yes, the hat is small.....so we are going to have to get her an adult sized hat so it will fit over all of that hair!! And, the skirt is shorter than her Daddy would like.....but it's a size 7 and if I get them any bigger they won't stay up!

Fall Festival Fun.

Last night was the annual New Home Fall Festival that raises money for Brooke's school. It was a lot of fun, but sadly here are the only pictures I have to show for it! Brooke had a great time with friends, so glad even some LBK friends came out!

Where to begin, oh yeah....my sweet, sweet hubby (harhar) paid to have myself and a dear friend Tess thrown in the pokey....aka stinky sheep trailer....thanks honey....remember what they say about pay backs?! ;o)

That same sweet hubby better be the only one to feel repercussion's from throwing our very own Principal Fiedler in the pokey too!

Only pic I even took of Brooke at the festival....face painting!

Homecoming Fun, Day 2 - Mixed Up Day!

The deal for Mixed Up Day was the girls could dress like boys, the boys like girls OR you can just be all mixed up and non matching....my girly girl naturally chose the mixed up part because her exact words to me were "Mom, why in the world would I want to dress like a boy?!"

Please note the fingernails and toenails are all mixed up too, that was a pretty big deal to her!

Fair Fun.

While Steven and I went to tailgate to cheer on the Red Raiders (who pulled out a last minute exciting win, by the way), Brooke was having fun at the South Plains Fair with her Nana and Paw. Lots of firsts, that I hate to miss.....but at the same time I love the memories she's making with her grandparents.

First pony ride, although she will correct you and say "it was a Horse Momma."

I posted this close up because look at the biting of the lip.....concentration at it's finest....and yes, her Daddy still does that too.

Riding the carousel with her Nana.

Fun at the petting zoo!

Thanks Nana and Paw for taking our girl and making fun memories with her!

PS - Now I don't have to go to the fair, YIPPEE!!

Friday Night Lights.

Just a few more pictures from the pep rally Brooke got to be in Friday, as well as the game that night. I am working on editing a video so I can put it online as well.

She did unbelievably well. I was shocked at how well to be frank....after all, she's FIVE! Anywho, she loved it and that's the most important part!

Excited Much?!

Here is a quick Friday morning look at my FAVORITE "Little Leopard".

She got to go to a Little Leopard Cheer Camp this week and she will get to perform with the Varsity cheerleaders at today's pep rally and tonight's game. To say she is excited seems understated!

Yes, I will be videoing so you will all be subjected to that later!

Happy Friday everyone!

Before and After.

I spent a few days out of this week transforming Brooke's vanity area from this:

Into this:

Wild, yes I know....but the reason it is ALL worth it....Brooke LOVES it. She thinks it is "BEEEEAAAUUUUTIFUL" which makes it all worth while! It was still wet in this picture and yes I know the mirror is a tad crooked....but it's been fixed now. ;o)

TGIF!

We FINALLY got some rain this week.....much needed rain at that! When I asked Brooke her favorite thing about rain.....here is what she said in a picture:

Jumping in PUDDLES!

And, a good friend of ours gave Brooke this cheer uniform she had made for her daughter.....we LOVE hand me downs! It was hard to get Brooke to even take it off for bed last night.....I just wanted her to try it on after I put some darts in it!

AND, guess what she is wearing to school today?! This was our little Leopard this morning before school....she was ecstatic she could wear it to pep rally day at school!

The best part was her doing her own version of the cheers in the living room.....love that girly girl!

NUTS?!

Can you tell by the types of crafts I have been doing who I am most NUTS for?! I have been having SO much fun making things for her.....here was yesterday evening's easy craft, something she already loves because I made her a zebra pair last year.....ARM WARMERS!

This last pose is for her Grandpa's. ;o)

SUPER KID!

Look at who is the first SUPER KID in Kindergarten!

The teachers just started this and Brooke got to be the very first Super Kid for Kindergarten. She will be the Super Kid all September and this board that I made yesterday is going to be hanging in the hallway for everyone to see. She is so proud, and of course we are too!

In case you can't read her favorite things, here is what it says:

Color: Purple

Book: Olivia

Ice Cream Flavor: Rainbow Sherbet

Sport: Dance & Gymnastics

Holiday: Christmas

Movie: Tangled

Food: Pizza

Animal/Pet: My Dogs Cooper & Macy

Happiest When: I am ALWAYS happy! I enjoy riding my bicycle, riding the tractor with my Daddy and just hanging out at home.

We think she is always a SUPER KID, just glad she's showing it to other's as well!

Fun Friday!

I am a few days behind yes....but you will get over it. ;o)

The best part of my Friday is when Brooke comes home from school. They don't have homework on Friday's, we don't have to stick to a strict bed time routine, so we can just hang out and have fun all afternoon/evening! I always crave that time after her being gone all week to school!

I just took a ton of pictures of the two of us horsing around....and thought I would share the smiles. It was pep rally day (which is at least once a week during football season) hence the red and black!

It was a refreshingly cool afternoon, with a high of only 88. I thought FALL was here, it was wonderful to be outside and not melting.

She discovered our baby squash. We've had more, but they keep mysteriously disappearing....

Cheesin' it up for the camera.

MATO'S! No, she doesn't call them that anymore, but her Daddy and I do. MOST tomatoes off of our plants have never made it in the house....she normally wipes them on her shirt and eats them.

This picture is just a silly one. I wanted to share how much money you can save by spending a whopping 5 minutes doing something yourself. A good friend on Facebook told me she bought a hat just like this for $45.....not me, Hobby Lobby hat for $3.99, Iron on decal for $1.99 and no one would know I didn't spend a lot of money.....if I hadn't posted it on Facebook and the blog...hehehe.

Trippin' already.

Yesterday the Pre-K AND Kindergarten classes got to go to the Apple Orchard in Idalou. Brooke got to do this last year in Pre-K, but she was still really excited about it. Steven went in to wake her up that morning and she sat straight up in bed and said "SURPRISE" so she was raring to go.

Funny part is they had to have their yearbook pictures taken before the field trip....hence one hair do here.

And, a more practical hair do for picking apples once I got to her.

Listening all about the orchard, types of apples, bees, lady bugs, honey, etc.....it really is a neat place to visit.

I absolutely LOVE being able to go with her on these trips. Not only do I get to see firsthand what she is learning and doing, but I also get to meet her classmates and get to know them better, and hang out with the other fun parents too. I figure this is a great start to making her life miserable when she hits the teenage years....haha.

Brooke and her sweet friend, Maddox.

The apples were a lot smaller this year because of the record heat we've had, BUT the kids didn't mind.....they got to pick twice as many and they still taste wonderful.

Most of the Kindergarten girls....

And, on the fun hay ride.....this hay ride, well had real hay on it.....and therefore Brooke didn't sleep well last night due to sneezing, stopping up/running nose.....so, this morning she told her teacher that she "must have a hay fever from the hay ride".....I am sure she has overheard people using that term, funny how quickly they remember!

They had pictures first, field trip second, picnic next and got back to school to lay down for a few minutes before they got to go to the junior high pep rally.....all in all it was a BUSY day, but FUN, FUN, FUN!

Do you need more proof?

Brooke loves pretending to be a cheerleader. Go figure! They are girly, beautiful, fun, and we've spent a lot of time with them through out the summer.

Here is proof however, in case you needed it.....as to just how fast she's growing!

I think it's safe to say it's time for a new cheer outfit.....Daddy wouldn't let her out of the house this way, she's just pretending while he's not here. ;o)

Oh and here is her doing a cheer....well, her version anyway.

Those of you who get this via email will most likely have to go to the actual blog to watch it.
