Yesterday the Pre-K AND Kindergarten classes got to go to the Apple Orchard in Idalou. Brooke got to do this last year in Pre-K, but she was still really excited about it. Steven went in to wake her up that morning and she sat straight up in bed and said "SURPRISE" so she was raring to go.
Funny part is they had to have their yearbook pictures taken before the field trip....hence one hair do here.
And, a more practical hair do for picking apples once I got to her.
Listening all about the orchard, types of apples, bees, lady bugs, honey, etc.....it really is a neat place to visit.
I absolutely LOVE being able to go with her on these trips. Not only do I get to see firsthand what she is learning and doing, but I also get to meet her classmates and get to know them better, and hang out with the other fun parents too. I figure this is a great start to making her life miserable when she hits the teenage years....haha.
Brooke and her sweet friend, Maddox.
The apples were a lot smaller this year because of the record heat we've had, BUT the kids didn't mind.....they got to pick twice as many and they still taste wonderful.
Most of the Kindergarten girls....
And, on the fun hay ride.....this hay ride, well had real hay on it.....and therefore Brooke didn't sleep well last night due to sneezing, stopping up/running nose.....so, this morning she told her teacher that she "must have a hay fever from the hay ride".....I am sure she has overheard people using that term, funny how quickly they remember!
They had pictures first, field trip second, picnic next and got back to school to lay down for a few minutes before they got to go to the junior high pep rally.....all in all it was a BUSY day, but FUN, FUN, FUN!
