Dave's NEED for Speed.

One of the MANY reasons I love working from home is so I can be here to pick a girl up from school every day and be the one that helps with homework, hears about her day, feeds her snacks, etc.....but I must say, although year end is HECTIC....I might get to enjoy some of the fun in the midst of all the crazy!

Brooke did not want to drive a go cart by herself, although other kids did it even when they couldn't see over the steering wheel....so, I HAD to drive her....I am pretty sure the pictures show how much I hated it....haha.

Do I look miserable yet?!  I never considered myself competitive....but I might be when you put me behind a wheel....I was determined to beat all of those elementary kids!

Waiting in line for her favorite part: LAZER TAG!

Playing Glow in the dark Putt Putt.

A lovely rear shot of me trying to teach one of our friends how to putt (mainly because I was tired of ducking!).

We might have gone a few times....

A fun day for sure!

Recital

Recital Fun.  It was a busy day, but one Brooke loved.  It reminded me why we do this in the first place.....she loved it, loves being on stage and didn't even MIND waiting for hours, watching the other dancers, etc....she LOVED every single thing about it.

Dance Recital Rehearsal

Brooke's dance recital rehearsal was the evening AFTER Joyland....busy day, oh yeah.....busy couple of weeks!

WOWZA....her favorite part of course, the makeup!!

Apparently, her Daddy has some insane yet hidden rhythm.....because Brooke has an unbelievable knack for dance that this Momma hasn't ever touched!

Joyland!

I have been horrible at blogging lately, but I realized earlier that my own Momma isn't on Facebook, which is where I easily post pictures ALL THE TIME....so, today I am catching up.  The rest of you that have already seen these....well sorry, but I gotta keep my Momma happy!

Joyland trip, Friday May 24, 2013.

One way Brooke is so far NOT like myself or Steven either one: She does not like crazy rides yet.  She was waiting in line to ride a kiddie roller coaster...

I sweet talked....aka, suckered Steven into going because he'd taken the day off.....long story I might tell another day, but he's taking his vacation because he is going to be moving employment to another company as of July 1st.....scary to no longer work for a company you've been with for 16+ years yes, yet prayers are being answered by this move.

By the look on her face I am guessing she was already regretting her choice to try this ride again....

More her speed right now.  Trouble is, with her LONG legs she is almost too big for the so called KIDDIE rides!!

I let Daddy ride with the two girls.  I sat behind them so I could take pictures.....and I MIGHT have enjoyed the peace and quiet too....heehee.

Front shot...

PLAY DAY!

When we woke up yesterday morning it was COOL, dark, looked as if it could rain and of course WINDY!  I was extremely worried about the kid's play day at school....I didn't want her sick, and I didn't want to be out in it and of course since I cannot say no I volunteered to help the PTO sell snacks and drinks.

By noon, it was warming up but still windy....and by 1 when they headed outside it was PERFECT!!  Around 80 degrees, a low breeze and just perfect for playing!!

Our girl ready for a hard afternoon of playing.  I posted this picture on Facebook earlier to show the hat I bought MYSELF for $5 that she hasn't taken off for long enough for me to even try it on!  Looks better on her anyway, just never thought she'd wear something so.....plain!  I also commented about how the only two ways she looks like me are because she walks on her toes as I did as a girl about her age....and her bruised up legs!

Most of the two first grade classes listening to their high schoolers dividing them up into teams.
Trouble picking our girl out?!

I didn't get to go around with her class this year and experience the fun myself because I was working the concessions, BUT a sweet friend sent me these pictures which I love!

I am assuming a version of hot potato?!

Passing a ball over, under, etc....just lots of cuteness.

A sweet friend.

Throwing (like a girl) the ball....heehee.

Tug-o-war, notice the ONE boy on the end....poor kid now, lucky kid when he's older!

Obstacle course!

And, I saved the best for last.....the UNDERWEAR race.  CUTE!!

The end of her 1st grade year is near!!

Cutie Pie

I just had to share a picture of my favorite girl.  She is ready for school to be out, but starting next week they will pretty much be having reward parties, field trips, play days, etc....so it should be fun!

Notice the LONG, skinny, bruised up legs.  She is already out growing (length wise anyway) size 8 clothing....might have to start adding ruffles again!

Steven will not find this blurry picture funny at all, but it was to me.....a little anyway.  We were threatened with another rain shower yesterday afternoon, so I told him I looked everywhere for our grill cover and couldn't find it.  I went in the garage and couldn't find him anywere when I peeked over the fence and saw this.....he found it!  Might have had to walk close to mile to get it, but we have it back!  Dust devils do wonders for back yard decor!

Mother's Day Weekend Fun.

What did I want for Mother's Day?  No far fetched requests.  I wanted Steven to finish up our front yard yes, which he has made look WONDERFUL!  But, my request was to just spend the time with my two favorite people in the world.  I didn't care if we went anywhere!

So, just SOME of the funny things I captured from that weekend.  Although, Steven won't find it 'funny' because he was actually working when the funny shots were captured.

Brooke stayed in the air conditioned farm truck with the farm dog Solomon instead of getting out and actually helping.

Another day she actually helped change water all dolled up....I think she was helping anyway.

Egad, we cannot go to the farm looking BORING!!

Sucking down cool juice boxes while going through ditches squealing "WEEEEEE!"

And, she got muddy.....yep, that's all that was muddy but according to her she was MUDDY!

We did go to Plainview Saturday to spend the early day with Steven's folks, but did I remember my camera?? No, of course not.  Anyway, as part of her Mother's Day surprise, Steven dug up our magnolia tree we were going to remove anyway and took it to her to keep a live and knowing her nurture it to be bigger than her house!

And, watching Steven dig a pivot out of the mud....fun, fun, fun.

Truth be told I would not change a single thing about our quiet weekend.  I did get spoiled with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.....LOVED it!
