To make you smile.

Before I became a mom I never realized ONE person could make me so utterly happy, followed by irritated, followed by melting my heart....all within seconds. She is a hoot, who always knows how to get me....whether that is aggravated, melting my heart, or just making me extra grateful.

I found this picture from a couple of weeks ago. This is HER version of how Rapunzel wears her hair in the movie Tangled.

The other day we were driving home from school, the entire 30 second ride she was silent. I asked her why she was so quiet and she said, "Momma, I am talking to God and asking Him to turn this wind down!" How right she is....and how precious she is.

Getting Involved.

So, for those of you who know me.....know I have said all along I want to be really involved in Brooke's school. Well, I am going to be regardless of the situation....but something new was asked of me earlier this week by school staffers and I have accepted a new challenge. I am going to be the Junior High Cheerleading Sponsor. At least try it out this year and if I feel it is taking me away from my one and only, Brooke....then I will find someone to help in future years. BUT, for the meantime....I am (Brooke will be with me of course, right in the middle of it all) going to be trying something new.....junior high girls!

Wish me luck, I am afraid I will need it!

PS - Donna, expect phone calls from me....heehee!

Trying to Catch up.

I am trying to catch up on my picture sharing, so here we go again! Brooke helped me make cupcakes to take to her school on her actual birthday, so here is the shot of HER and her cupcakes....at least that is what the shot was supposed to be, so I didn't know I was going to be in it....ha, thanks honey.

Judging by the amount of chocolate that made it to her face I think they were good! I tried to bribe school faculty with the rest of them. ;o)

Thursday at school the got to have an Easter Egg Hunt. This showed how smart her teacher is....she assigned each Pre-K student a specific letter, so they had to actually pay attention to the eggs they picked up. It took longer and each student got the same amount....smart teacher!

Having refreshments after the egg hunt.

Relaxing on her favorite birthday present....

Bubbles are still cheap entertainment.....and I still think my child is PRECIOUS!

I took this picture to share her drawing....it shows her interpretation of HER next to the Easter bunny....she got the long curly hair part right on!

How we spent our Good Friday. Looks stressful doesn't it?! We enjoyed a fun day of playing and swimming with our cousins.

I am in love with another dog....it's a hundred pounder named Zelda....she is the most gentle giant I have met in a long time. Who LOVES to swim! She was so entertaining and is great with kids!

Party Time.....a little late.

I know Brooke's party was nearly a week ago, but hey.....life with a five year old is hectic! Here are some candid shots from her birthday party. I was really bad this year about not getting my formal shots of her with her cake, with her grandparents, etc.....so, soon I hope!

We gave her several options for her birthday party this year.....she looked at me as if I were crazy and said "Momma, can't I just have my friends over at my house to play?" So, of course that is what we did! I didn't organize a single game for them. We asked them to dress up in their favorite costume and come play! The girls were all different variations of princesses. Brooke started out as Rapunzel, but like any diva should she changed to Ariel mid party. We were graced by a Ninja turtle, Peter Pan AND a Knight in Shiny armor (his words not mine).

The pictures are sort of out of order....but anywho, Nana outdid herself again this year with a Rapunzel cake for our princess!

PRESENTS!

More play time!

A better cake shot.

Singing Happy Birthday!

And.....why we all do this stuff. The look on her face is totally worth anything and everything!

Presents from a different angle.

Thank you to all of our family and friends who were able to come celebrate our princess and her FIFTH birthday!

Trip down memory lane.

This post is strictly because this particular Momma seems to get sentimental around her baby girl's birthday! So, here are pictures of her on all of her birthday's for a quick reminder of how much she's grown!

On her BIRTH day, just minutes old. The benefit to working at the hospital is getting to walk your newborn baby girl to the nursery! Proof she already had tons of hair.....go figure!

Celebrating her 1st birthday with her 1st taste of cake icing made Nana's way (cool whip, MMMM)!

Celebrating her 2nd birthday.....already sprouted long legs by then!

Celebrating her 3rd birthday, by this age we had to HOLD her still to get a picture!

Her 4th birthday....our Princess!

And, on her actual birthday DAY....she is now 5!! Wow....look at our precious little lady, or as she still says yittle....I cannot convince her that the word little starts with the letter L....it's the only oddity to her speech other than her Texas twang!
