My latest addiction.

For those of you who aren't on Facebook....I have a new addiction. I have always loved making crafty things for Brooke. She LOVES girly things, and does NOT like baggy t-shirts, well neither do I so I figured out something to do with our shirts we don't wear.

I think the pictures will show that my reason for being crafty likes wearing the stuff too!

Had to add bling to one for her.

Another one for me.

THEN I decided to try my hand at making her a dress out of some of my t-shirts.....and added ruffles. Then make a headband....

Then made another one.....and added a hair poof.

Yep, I am addicted to making more fun stuff for both of us to wear! I am making some for friends as well, so it will be a fun way to stay extra busy while she is in school! And, I got our new New Home t-shirts today, so I am sure we won't be wearing them as boring ole t-shirts!!

Manic Monday?

I hope Brooke always loves school. It sure does make the so called Monday grind that much easier when she pops out of bed raring to go! If she gets ready quickly and eats a good breakfast she gets time to watch cartoons before school which she got to do this morning.

Lovin' this girly girl phase and all the pretties she enjoys wearing....will be sad if/when she outgrows this phase. And yes....I think she has gotten taller AND thinner.....she resembles the junior high girls more than the babies! :o(

ARGH Matey!

Our lives must have been really quiet and quite boring before this little girl blessed us with her presence! I get to dine with princesses, swim with mermaids, dance with ballerinas.....and pretty much all day today I got to hang out with a pirate....argh! I know, I know it looks more like a gypsy, but she WOULD correct you if you called her anything BUT a pirate! She is very creative and I love her using her wild imagination.....if it's good for nothing else, I sure get lots of laughs!

Oh, and she was caught using my camera without my knowledge when I downloaded the pictures and this popped up.....no, I don't play on Disney websites regularly. :o) Proof that she can be quite a stinker at times too.....I am lucky though that this is all she does.

This princess has helped me come to the conclusion that I had committed too much of my time to other people. It is hard for me to tell people no, or even harder to quit after I have started something but I had to hand over the task of junior high cheer....I will officially meet the new sponsor tomorrow after school, and I will miss the girls terribly (as will Brooke for the most part)....but I know I am doing the right thing and will enjoy what I NEED to be doing with that time instead.

Oh and to update....Steven has um 'removed' 4 skunks so far, with the trap still set.....hopefully we will run out of skunks eventually. And we got a brand new, beautiful cedar fence to help keep them out.....I will try to remember to post pics for those of you who would want to look at wood....hehe.

First Day Jitters?!

Most kids would have first day of Kindergarten jitters, but NOT this girl! She is SO excited and walked in her classroom, straight to her locker all by herself and hung up her back pack, told the teacher Good Morning and went and sat down at her desk, patiently awaiting the day to start! I am very grateful for her being in Pre-K out here last year. It made this morning tear free and jitter free for Brooke, myself AND Daddy.

Is it just me, or does Kindergarten automatically make her look that much more grown up?!

And of course, had to get the backpack pose.

Love getting Daddy's Girl pictures!

A little close up, but hey.....love my girl!

Hugs and prayers go out to all friends this morning on this first day of school. Praying for a good year, full of fun and learning!

Tie Dye!

Story behind the tie dye is that yesterday while at Nana and Paw's, we tie dyed this shirt for her and she asked NON stop if she could wear it today....so, yes I washed and washed so she could wear it today without turning colors herself. So, here is our hippie chick!

It was HER that wanted to tie the shirt at the bottom.....she's been around too many junior high and high school girls lately!

Meet the teacher!

Meet the beautiful Mrs. Starkey! Brooke is SO excited that school is starting soon! Her only problem is that it doesn't start TOMORROW!

This is the woman we will hand our precious child over for at least 7 hours a day, 5 days a week....GULP! She is a real sweetheart and I look forward to seeing how she nurtures our child!

She thinks they're just farmin'.

Have you ever heard the song by Trace Adkins "She thinks we're just fishin"? I think of this song every time Brooke rides the tractor with her Daddy.....and SHE thinks they're just farming!

For those of you who aren't on Facebook, I will explain the outfit. Only MY child would be riding a tractor in a nightgown that comes to her ankles, flip flops, flower head band and jewels out the wazoo.....life is never dull around this kid for sure!

If you haven't heard it, here's a link. It's an awesome Father/Daughter song.
