TOO much Fun?!

This was Brooke the day after school was out.  Steven had been home for maybe 5 minutes when she asked him if her pool was ready to get into yet.  He took the 'subtle' hint and got her pool out.  The next few days it was warm, but was too windy to be in it.....so finally yesterday, Memorial Day she was able to get in it.  She spent way TOO much time in it.....and went from this....

To this, this morning.....

Apparently, there IS such a thing as too much fun.....she is still in her pj's and hardly moving and it's almost noon!  I suppose today will be recoop time!

Spoiling is so much fun!!

I REALLY hope other parents love and crave time alone with their kids as much as I do!  Now that she has been OFF steroids for a week or so I feel like I have my Brooke back 100%.  No odd anger bouts taken out on her Mommy.  Yesterday morning they had their awards ceremony at school, then all they were going to do was watch a movie.....so instead I brought her home so we could just hang out.  We don't do it very often, but I decided to call Sweet and Sassy and go just the two of us.  She got a Manicure, Pedicure, Princess Up Do, and lots of one on one attention because she was the ONLY girl there for a long time.

She is growing up SO fast and since I cannot seem to pause that....I am trying to enjoy every second I can!

The lady took her time in doing a princess do, she had two beautiful braids gathered into three little buns on the back of her head....it was precious!

The ONLY regret I have about the Sweet and Sassy thing, was this morning before school her begging me to "try" to do her hair like Sweet and Sassy did.  This was my first attempt.....I didn't try to french braid underneath like the girl did, I will try that when she doesn't have school....or witnesses...ha!

THIS is what makes the spoiling worth while right here.....

She liked the wild hair do, and that's all that matters!!

I didn't snap a shot of her nails, but they are all black with white and silver zebra stripes....too cute!

FUN, FUN, FUN!!

All the last week of school has been for is to say they went so many days and to have FUN!!

Monday, Joyland....this year I will selfishly report that so many parents went that I got to ride rides with just my own kid.....and I enjoyed it!  I loved her hiding in my armpit when she decided she did NOT like a ride and begging for me to stop it....but my favorite would be the 10 minute long ski lift that takes you over the park....good visiting time there!

The rest of the time we followed friends around of course....the kiddie rides have a height limit (probably weight too, but we won't go there), so I opted to watch and smile.

Riding kiddie boats....

Just SOME of the girls she rode all of the rides with....

Relieved to know we have close to 10 years before she can LEGALLY drive....

Riding the Carousel a second time...

It was right next to the noisiest ride in the park, so every time we went by on that side she got SO serious!!

This picture shows her very fake grin....the first time she rode this, she appeared to me to strongly dislike it.....but she then proceeded to ride in three more times, so I guess it grew on her....

Before she decided she liked it....

When she actually appeared to relax and have fun....

I made the mistake of letting her talk me into doing bumper cars without me.....it ended it tears because she whacked her hand and bruised her knuckles.....but it was cute to watch her attempt to reach the peddles and see over the steering wheel at the same time...

The next day was a reward party for good behavior at BodyWorks where they got to SWIM!  They swam for two hours straight, then Brooke and myself walked up the little hill to have ice cream before heading home and resting before her cheer/tumbling class....to say she was beat by the end of the day would be a huge understatement!

My favorite blue eyes....

More fun to come!

PROUD parents!

As if we aren't ALWAYS proud of our girl....but this morning was the elementary awards ceremony and this sweet Kindergartener (for one more day) got awards for: "A" Honor Roll, The Best Reader Award and for ranking in the Accelerated Reading Program!  We are so proud of her and anything she does!!

I kidnapped her after the awards (all they were going to do was watch a movie) and we have an afternoon of girly stuff planned.....love just hanging with my almost first grader!!

PLAY DAY!

Yesterday after lunch was their annual Play Day out on the football field.  The high school student council kids organize games for them to play and they always have a blast.  Lots of parents were there to watch with LOTS of sunscreen, it couldn't have been a more beautiful day for it!

Here is a pic of my FAVORITE tip toe walker!  She wags her hips like no other when she is on her toes....makes me smile....of course!

Tug O War!  In case you don't spot her, far left....on the very end, tugging on her toes of course!

Running a race.  She has my speed....or should I say lack thereof.  She didn't come in last, but she was so sad that she didn't come in at least third because the first three to finish got a stick.  I just asked her if a stick was that important to her and always assure her of how proud I am that she finished!

To those of you I haven't talked to lately.  Brooke still has allergy induced asthma that we are working to get under control.  We went back to the original doctor that diagnosed her since I don't feel like it's been under control since FEBRUARY....yes, you read right.  Ever since her bronchitis flare up in February I feel like it's been one flare up at least once a week.  We took her to the doc and the doc diagnosed her with basically walking pneumonia!  Her asthma was not causing this flare up....her asthma seems to be under control at this time.  She has been on medication to control the asthma and to treat the walking pneumonia since Tuesday and so far she hasn't coughed once....has slept two nights in a row (can you say WAHOO!!)....and seems to be getting the steroids out of her system, therefore acting more like BROOKE! This whole ordeal just goes to remind me to follow our parent instincts....Steven and I knew something wasn't working right....and now we know why!

Kindergarten Graduate!!

BITTERSWEET....another definition....a mommy definition would be watching your child grow up!  We want our child to be healthy, happy and 'normal' but it is going by SO fast that you cannot help but get a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye!  It does not seem possible that our SIX year old is already graduating from Kindergarten.  She has learned SO much and has so much to learn!  She loved the entire process....school, the extra attention at graduation, singing....she even had a solo!!  It was PRECIOUS!

Our girl, going to get her diploma.

Strutting her stuff across the stage!

Me, embarrassing her by making her stop long enough to get a picture!

The two people that mean more to me than I could ever express!

Our pride and joy!

My two favorites!

And, Brooke with one of HER favorites....I see this picture being in their high school graduation ceremony as well!  Brooke and Connor.

Thank you to everyone who came.  It seemed like a rushed ordeal yesterday, but I assure you Brooke remembered every single moment.  She was telling me how happy she was that everyone came, and named you all individually.  After lots of talking, we finally convinced her that she was not going into first grade TODAY....that she has the next week to totally goof off with her Kindergarten classmates before summer vacation!
