We acknowledge it completely!

We get told ALL the time when people talk to and look at Brooke that we are going to be in BIG trouble when she gets older. Steven and I fully acknowledge that, and laugh and worry constantly about the things this precious angel will......um, allow us to conquer together?!

Last night we were watching some movie on TV and a rap song came on, and Brooke stood up and just started busting a move.....Steven shook his head and said "I am so in trouble"....for one, we don't know where she got that rhythm....but also a lot of that is because she acts at age five as if she has never met a stranger. She talks to anyone and everyone, and non stop at that. She has no filter at this age and will ask questions that are SO embarrassing to me as the parent in the background. Anything from "why are your teeth brown" to asking a man "why are your boobies bigger than my Mommy's" she keeps me red faced regularly!

This spectacular five year old (yes, I fully admit to 100% partiality) reads, although we are working on her confidence. As she is right now she will only read to myself, her Daddy and her Granny....she gets too embarrassed (after reading the paragraph above that puzzles me) and will beg the adult to read it to her instead. Her writing is getting better and better all the time, but I have noticed if I am NOT paying attention like she is asking me to, she will manage to write a lot of letters backwards, then hand it to me with a smart alleck grin.....like I wouldn't notice?!

This picture came from the photographer asking her to kiss her Mommy....she did it so fast that this is all she got.....

But, she has NO problem kissing her Prince. She has told me on NUMEROUS occasions that she needs a bigger bed in her room. When I ask her why she replies "because when I get big and marry my Daddy you will want a bigger bed to sleep on in my room." Not only is she going to marry her Daddy, but she's going to kick me out of my bedroom and into hers.....she thinks things through totally!

Brooke is a very happy child. The ONLY time she isn't is due to exhaustion or hunger....same as when she was a baby. She talks NON stop and we try to utilize the quiet game a lot....the only problem is Steven and I try to get in a conversation while she is being quiet, so the entire time she is Shhhhhhing us.

She is 100% girl, but 100% curious girl at that. I see a lot of her Daddy's curious ways in her. She will take anything apart, try to work on anything, watch new things operating to see if she can figure it out.....she gets that technical stuff from Steven for sure because I don't feel that curious about things now as long as they work! I got an awesome Cricut (craft contraption for those of you who don't know) and she is fascinated with that thing. Not only does she watch it, but she is already telling me why certain pieces are moving and what they are about to do.

The term Bittersweet was certainly coined by a parent in my opinion. I love watching her grow, learn and try new things, but I want it to slow down a little too! She will start Kindergarten one week from today. She is very excited and looking forward to "learning math and time with her friends" her words, not my own.
