A HARD worker!

It is always a great feeling to see that your child is succeeding at anything they are doing.  But, this week in particular our sweet Brooke needed to see that all of her HARD work is paying off.  She is a very hard worker, she reads, studies, does homework very well for any aged kid, but the fact that she is still SIX and doing so well is amazing to me.  This week has been rough on her confidence.  She NEEDS to pass a set of Math flash cards today for a grade.  She has never had trouble with confidence before, but they have recently started added double digits math problems and she got a few lower than normal grades.  The teachers keep telling her not to panic, just keep working and all will be fine, but her confidence still took a blow for some reason.

This information came out in the Lynn County Newspaper just yesterday:

I made sure to show it to Brooke and explain what it meant and how proud we are of her and her hardwork!  It seemed to help with the confidence a bit.

And, last night we literally quizzed her on her flash cards every 10 minutes or so until bed time. They have to get 25 flash cards right within a minute and she was acing it every time. Each and every time she would get them in under a minute you could see that confidence returning!

This picture is after, when the confidence was back.....I couldn't bear to take a sad picture of her being so hard on herself!

AND, this is the firecracker this morning before school.  She is READY to take those flashcards head on!  She was fired up and ready to go!  I am crossing my fingers and holding my breath until she gets out of school!  MAN, who would've thought 1st grade could be so tough!!
TGIF!!!
