A downer.....

I just wanted to share the latest. I have been working for RRC for a year and a half now and will no longer be doing any work for him. I saw it coming due to the lack of activity within his company, but am still disappointed. He is a great man and I will always wish him nothing but the best....but he was also a good source of income....which I will greatly miss as well. SO, I will have plenty of time to work on the small clients I do have as well as make MORE girlie stuff! ;o)

Such a Hamm!

I have been busy making hair bows again, and of course for every bow I make for someone else's child I HAVE to make a new one for Brooke.....here she is showing off one of her new ones from last week. She no longer shies away from the camera very often. Now, when she sees the camera she automatically says "cheeeeeese" without even stopping what she's doing. However, she does not always do what I want her to do in a picture....go figure!

I told Brooke I wanted to take her picture and her comment was, "take one of my booty Momma" as she was striking this pose.....then she ran over to me and wanted to see the picture....she cracks me up.

We had a great, busy, fun filled weekend. Thanks to Steven's folks, Steven and I were able to go out for some early anniversary celebrating. We always enjoy getting to go out to dinner with friends and just chit chatting without toddler interruptions....but it does make us extra grateful for our life the way it is now as well. Steven woke up motivated.....he painted the living room and our bathroom.....two things we have talked about doing for MONTHS.....so, I am definitely a happy camper! It feels like a new house!

For those of you who want a potty training update.....well, I am still at it. Brooke apparently isn't going to be one of those easy to potty train kiddoes that I hear so much about. I was kind of down in the dumps about it, feeling like it was something I was doing wrong....then I went to our weekly music class and talked to all of the other mommies in the room....THANK YOU other Mommies for making me realize to relax but remain consistent. She will get it I know.... They all told me their kids are not being easy either, and the ones that are potty trained it took months to do so all the way.....so, I will keep being a potty training drill sargeant! Wish me luck!

What a Daddy!

Steven is an awesome Daddy....and always has been. He is one of those people that will try his hand at anything, and 99% of the time he succeeds during the first try.....which I have to admit drives me crazy sometimes when I try so hard at something and he ends up making it look so easy. ANYWAY, back to the story.....I had a doctor's appointment not too long ago, and instead of asking someone to watch her Steven wanted to do the job. When I left they were both in their jammies, and I fully expected her to be in her jammies when I got back.....but of course he dressed her....which is no big deal anymore. The big deal is figuring out what on earth to do with her plethora of hair!! I got home to two of the cutest pig tails I had seen....and was in shock about how GOOD he did her hair! I know of so many daddy's that will not even attempt a feat like that and yet again Steven tried it and passed with flying colors! The bad news is....Steven, now I might start to EXPECT it. ;o)

Brooke hugging on Cooper with those adorable pig tails....

As close to a close up as I could get of her.....he hasn't admitted it, but sugar might have been involved because she was WIRED when I got home!

Just for fun...

Every once in a while I scan back through pictures and wonder why I didn't share a certain one....and this week this is the picture. I think is too cute not to share. It is Brooke and her Uncle Bro, or Dennis as we call him. Whether he will admit it or not he too is wrapped around that tiny little finger of Brooke's. I have decided he will be the uncle we have to worry about letting Brooke do anything as she gets older. Brooke constantly watches him and this picture (which he has no idea I took) was of all of us out on the farm all crammed in the farm truck, including the big black dog Solomon who was in the backseat with me and Elise! Steven told her to hold on as he drove out in the field and of course who did she hold on to....Unc Bro!

To make you smile...

For some odd reason I forgot to post this picture yesterday....I love it (of course what picture of Brooke don't I like) because it shows those beautiful blue eyes!!

Just some funnies over the past week or so.....

I have been in such awe of how quickly Brooke is growing, and how quickly she is just getting taller and skinnier, it is as if it happens over night....so the other morning I told her:

Me: "Brooke, you are so tall....you don't even have a belly anymore...."

Brooke: looks at me like I have lost it, pulls up her shirt, grabs her tummy and says "Momma, my belly is right here."

I stand corrected....Brooke's belly is still there, just a lot flatter than it used to be. ;o)

On Christmas Day my Dad made his normal call to his mother, who lives in Alabama....he told her they were visiting my Mom's folks in Carlsbad....no big deal, nothing funny there.....then when my other Alabama family asked her where my parents where her reply was "They are in Baghdad." She knew it didn't sound right, but it's too late.....we all still give her a hard time about it.

And to add to my injuries I listed yesterday.....well, how many of you can say you have actually skinned your knuckles while doing the LAUNDRY?! Yep, that's me!

Tall drink of water.

This first picture is a little blurry, but I am posting it anyway to show you how tall and skinny Brooke is getting! In the last two months she has grown ANOTHER inch up.....but has stopped gaining weight....she is already wearing 4T clothing and she isn't even 3 yet! I think it is safe to say she is tall, and going to be tall!

I found some leg warmers (flashback to the 80's) on the dollar isle for Brooke....and she loves them....I wouldn't be caught dead in them again for fear of the camera, but they are fun for her for sure! The pics are just some of her being a girlie girl all weekend long. Every time I got the camera out I got the same "cheese" expression.

Brooke as ballerina Tinkerbell.....notice the tip toes of course!

I have already told you in the past about my klutziness....well, another instance has taken over my day! I was making hair bows for Brooke.....I know, not exactly a sport....but ended up bleeding and burned. Then moments later I am playing horsey with Brooke and she almost popped my knee out of socket.....so, not only am I bleeding and burned, but am limping!! Since it is icey outside it is safe to say I am going to stay in before something else happens!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all! It is hard for me to believe another year has gone by.....it seems like yesterday when our baby girl was born and here she will be 3 before we know it! We have had a very relaxing time.....as you can tell in the picture, we laid around watching movies last night and have taken it easy today. Wonderful breakfast, lunch with friends....and Brooke and I are currently having a tea party while Steven is out working on the farm for a bit.....I hope the New Year brings everyone more blessings than ever before!
