Can we mend already?!

Let's see. It's still only Tuesday and after our crazy Monday it feels as though it should at least be Thursday! No, believe it or not I really am not griping. Steven has been having crazy pains in his chest for the last few weeks. The reason this has been worrying me is that he doesn't ever hurt or want to go to the doctor. Yesterday he had an upper GI done and we found out the causes behind his pain: Hiatal hernia, Barrett's Disease and Esophagitis.....sounds pretty serious right?! Although they can all cause severe pain, I consider him very blessed that they can all be treated with medicine! WHEW!

Last night he needed a snooze and Brooke wanted to be right in the room with him, so as I was cooking dinner she was watching cartoons. Of course I missed the shot of her lying on his chest while he was sleeping, but hey at least I got this shot right?!

On to my other worry causer, Brooke. She has had a pretty rattly cough for at least 3 weeks now. I have been pretty certain that it is all caused by allergies, but she gets to coughing so hard that she makes herself gag and before I know it we are stripping sheets at 11pm and cleaning up her dinner.....if you catch my drift. I finally took her to see her doctor this morning and it was all confirmed. She is allergic to West Texas and unless we win the lottery and get ourselves a beach house the next best thing is to keep her on antihistamine/allergy medicine's as much as possible. The doctor said she was even wheezing, so if we cannot get it better with the medication's they gave her she might have to use a nebulizer (sp) to get the medicine into her chest. All in all, she is fine, most likely allergic to dirt or something along those lines that we have plenty of around here. She will be taking one medication in the mornings, one for a cough if it doesn't seem controlled by the earlier medication, and another medication at night. One for nasal allergies, one for throat....blah, blah, blah. The bright side?! Just like Steven it is all treatable with medication and she is not contagious!!

Now, on to a calmer week.....at least that's what I am hoping for!
