I'm worn out just from watching her.....

What Brooke acted like after giving her a new medication for her allergy cough:

Parenting advice: do NOT ever give your child Albuterol for a cough or wheezing unless you enjoy mothering the Tasmanian Devil! The doctor warned that it causes hyperactivity in some kids and if it's too much for Brooke that we might do a nebulizer for a while instead. Well, she is NEVER getting this syrup again. I gave it to her yesterday around 3pm, per the doctor's suggestions. And she was still bouncing non stop at 8pm. Her eyes looked exhausted, but it was as if she couldn't stop her body from moving. I really felt bad for her. I made her lay on our bed for a while and watch cartoons and she looked asleep from the belly button up, but her legs wouldn't stop moving, shaking, bouncing! THEN, I took her to school today and she totally misbehaved and got in trouble for not listening, cried all the way to the car, fell asleep on the way to Target (a minute drive), came home and plopped on the couch and said she's not feeling good....now she is taking a nap for the first time in a week.

I feel like I need a nap just from watching her!

wow! poor brooke! and poor mom! i have been told a lot of medications can either hype the kids up or mellow them out. i give brylie breathing treatments as needed for her wheezing, and, while i hate that i even have to do it, it is the best thing i have found. i give it to her right before nap or bedtime. it seems to relax her, which isn't to say that it would brooke, but it's worth a shot! i hope she feels better soon, and i hope you get some rest!
