Rain, rain, go away....

Remember the old saying we said as kids: "Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day" ? Well, I am pretty sure other Lubbock residents are saying this today along with me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the rain....love the smell, the cleanliness it brings to the air, what it does for our ground, water supply and so on.....BUT, we had a reported 10+ inches of the stuff yesterday in less that 18 hours so the city of Lubbock is pretty well covered!! The farmers now need more warm weather, assuming their crops haven't been flooded and killed, to get the cotton to where it needs to be in order to make anything on it!

Brooke isn't so fond of playing in the rain just yet, so we have stayed indoors and just watched it fall one drop at a time. I did however get some interesting pictures this morning of the Texas Tech Football stadium....and let me put it this way, if you see their game on FSN this weekend I will be very surprised. The good friend that emailed me these made sure to call it the "Jones AT&T Aquatic Center."

ADDITION: I have been informed that there WILL be a football game tomorrow....so, apparently Lubbock cancels schools, closes the courthouse and so on but there will definitely be a Tech football game!! ;o)




We are however very grateful to just be getting RAIN and not a Hurricane, so please keep all of those poor people in your prayers!
