Our Girly Valentine!

You can ask my husband....I've never really cared about celebrating Valentine's Day. If we do, great....if we don't, no big deal. I don't want Steven to spend way too much on roses he can buy at half the price the week after. I don't like crowds or waiting over an hour to pay too much for a meal, so our tradition is normally eating something a little fancier than normal at home and watching a movie together. I am 100% okay with a Hershey bar over any expensive box of chocolates.....yep ladies, I am weird like that.

Insert being a mommy to a very girly girl. I now LIKE Valentine's day. Brooke's Valentine Party at school is today. I giggled and had so much fun with Brooke personally addressing every single Valentine to her classmates. I made goodie bags for all the little girls and her teachers. We got Steven some Valentine cakes for his lunch....I think I might have been more into it this year than ever before....and here is the reason:

How could a Momma resist?!

I learned that it doesn't matter if a dress looks sort of Christmasy to me....it's red, and when a little girl wants to wear a red dress to her Valentine party....she wants to wear it regardless of the Scotty dog on it. She had to have jewelry on for her party. She actually ate her breakfast at a normal pace this morning because I promised her I would paint her fingernails pink if we had time....hence the fingers all stretched out in the picture.

I will try to get a few pictures of her Valentine party, but most importantly I am going to go and enjoy watching her have fun!
