What a week....

The week started off great! Sunday, aka Valentine's Day, we enjoyed one another's company. This is how Miss Priss watches TV on occasion.

Uncle Tracy, aka Steven's brother, came into town for a week of work. Brooke told everyone at preschool, Sam's, JoAnn's, United and any other place we happen to frequent, "Do you remember my Uncle Tracy? I get to see him today." She was a little excited about spending time with him.

My personal favorite is this first picture of the two of them together. She wouldn't take her eyes off of him! When we asked her to be quiet so we could talk, she would stand there, hold his hand and wait as long as she possibly could until she had to have his attention again.

This is the picture the grand parents might want. With them both actually looking at the camera.

Brooke loving on her Cooper. He WAS ours before Brooke was born, but rightly so.....he is now HER dog.

Trying to keep a child educationally entertained when cold outside and still trying to accomplish something around the house can be challenging some days. We've been graciously given a few educational games that she can play on the TV while we're doing other things around the house. Kind of a sanity saver for all of us when we've been cooped up inside for days!!

Nana will officially shoot me for the rear shot, BUT in my own defense these were too cute NOT to share! Nana had knee surgery last Friday, and she is already doing so well! She was doing her physical therapy exercises while they were here this weekend and Brooke had to do them with her.

More exercises.

Now onto why our week didn't end quite as expected. Steven is a typical guy in the sense of being tough and not wanting to go to the doctor. Well, about 11pm Thursday night things changed. He was having such severe chest pain that he asked me to take him to the ER. When our awesome neighbor Mike came over to stay with sleeping Brooke, he brought their blood pressure machine over and it let us know that his was way too high, especially for him. Chest pain is just scary period, as is heart trouble. To try to make a very long story/night as short as I can, after an ambulance ride and hours in the ER we did find out that it was NOT his heart (whew), his heart is perfectly healthy.

I learned several things this weekend, first of which is that gastrointestinal stuff, such as ulcer or gall bladder can cause heart attack symptoms! I am very relieved that it is not Steven's heart, but we will know for sure what it is after more doctor's appointments. Until then my sweet Steven is eating blander than normal meals so maybe he can rest! I have always been thankful for my wonderful family and friends. But, things like this put them into perspective, at least they do for me. Thank you to everyone who once again reminded us we can count on you for anything at anytime. And yes, I have been hugging my awesome husband just a little tighter than normal.
