I absolutely love Steven's ideas 99.9% of the time, and love it even more when he has the TIME to do one of them. One of the rewards of home ownership is getting to personalize it any way you see fit, and that is what we intend to do for at least the next 30 years or so ;o).
This project: Our driveway is a big circle gravel drive that really has no outline or boundaries, so when the church across the street has a really big get together we have people parked in our driveway. Didn't bother me a bit until I was blocked in my own driveway on more than one occasion, so I finally gave in and agreed with Steven on something needing to be done to make it LOOK like a drive.
We both like old and rustic things, so this was his idea to use these big old metal wheels we found.....I don't remember the specifics of what they came off of, but all of the farmers around here could tell you.....anyway, here is what he got done today. Love it! DECORATION!
As I was across the street taking pictures I had to capture our ornery "bird"......
Love that the imagination has no limits, especially at age five!
And, when Daddy was cleaning up all of the tools from around it she of course wanted her picture taken WITH the new fence.
He is not done yet. He is going to add a little split rail fence on our property corner. For those of you who have never been here.....the only thing North of us is a cotton field, BUT in doing so we hope to make it look nice AND help eliminate being trapped in our own drive ever again.
My sweet hubby is already back at the farm, moved on to a welding project to fix a tractor implement.....but I am really proud of his quick afternoon projects and his help to make this house our own.
