A reminder from GOD!

I have always heard that the main time to worry about what a child is up to is when they are quiet.....I 100% agree with that statement when it comes to Brooke. I was in the office doing some work for a client when silence came over our house....for Brooke (a girl who even talks in her sleep) silence is rare....and pretty much only happens when she is at school. I got up to investigate and here is what I saw:

To explain, she had just spent all of her Christmas money on this new Lalaloopsy doll, but according to Brooke "her outfit needed more style" so little Miss Thang here had gone through my sewing stash of fabric (it's become quite a hefty stash), picked out the only hot pink fabric(happens to be leopard print too), brought in a pair of my super sharp sewing scissors and started 'designing' this doll a new outfit. Look closer, because she knows the sewing machine is off limits (the part about the sharp scissors skipped her mind) she was taping it together.

My first thought was to get on to her for getting into so many things she shouldn't.....but all I could do was giggle because this is what I do with crafts....I am quite impressed with her creativity! Instead of scolding her in any way I caught myself helping her by sewing a few snaps on the dress she designed for her new dolly. A reminder that our every move is being recorded for use at a later time.....I just grabbed her and hugged her, I love those reminders from God above!

Another precious reminder from God....I do not like people writing on themselves.....I know I did it when I was a kid, but am not a big fan when it cannot be WASHED off immediately. Brooke was drawing with a Sharpie highlighter (my mistake I know) and she decided to write on the back of her hand in the car when the paper was full. I asked her to please not write on herself again, especially with things that won't wash off.....then as I looked closer, I saw what she wrote and have strongly considered giving her all of my Sharpie highlighters.

I should have rotated the picture so it would be easier to read, but to translate it says: "I Love You Mom." Yet another reminder to stop and look at things before you blow your cool.....

I am so thankful for this angel sent from above.....and I like to think that she is making me a better person every day! This is her, singing into the antenna, aka her microphone with her new dolly, dressed in the dress SHE made with her 'tattoo' on her hand. LOVE HER!

What a beautiful post! I love those little reminders from God too and it is amazing what they can absorb from such a young age.

She is precious!
