Guardian Angels ARE among us!

I hope this will remind you to make sure to hug and kiss your loved ones every time you part. We did, although Brooke was upset with me for not waving at Daddy like I normally do.....then about 5 minutes later when Steven called I wondered what on earth he needed......when I answered I instantly knew it wasn't just a courtesy call.

I don't remember the exact words he said, just know my heart sank and I am pretty sure the blood rushed out of my head......BUT I had a five year old little girl staring at me wanting to talk to her Daddy one more time before school......so I kept it together, got her ready for school with only minor details about the wreck her Daddy was just in. I think I said something along the lines of me just going because Daddy will need a ride home, although I know now she knew better. It wasn't until I saw the truck myself on my way to meet him at the hospital where he'd been taken via ambulance....that I got a little shaky and started praying and thanking the Good Lord for being with Steven.

He left the house around 7:10 this morning like he always does, heading for work in Lubbock.....he says he saw this lady STOPPED at the stop sign at Woodrow Road and Slide Road......but as he got there she just pulled out in front of him and there was nothing he could do, but hit her going at least 60 miles an hour.....he said he was close enough to even see her cell phone in her hand.....can you say distracted driver?! He was heading North originally, but after the impact the picture above is how he landed.....facing SouthWest. They are both lucky to be alive.

After lots of xrays later, I was even more thrilled to hear that aside from the insane soreness he is already feeling from the jarring impact of hitting someone at 60+ miles an hour.....he is fine. No broken bones, only one scratch....from where his knee hit the dashboard and I am sure he will know about more bruises tomorrow. His hand is bruised up because it hit the dashboard and his chest is swollen from the seatbelt/airbag combination......he is resting on a heating pad now.....trying to start the road to recovery, all the while being extremely thankful for his guardian angel this morning, hydrocodone and insurance......

It was really surreal to go clean his truck out this afternoon and see the other passengers sunroof, sunglasses, cupholders, etc.....under the front of the truck where the grill used to be. The Lord was watching both of these drivers today. We learned that the lady will be fine, she was admitted with bumps and bruises to be observed overnight.

It is probably hard to see, but this is the lady's vehicle......

And this one was sent by a friend.....

I am logging off now to go gently hug on my safe husband!
