Our great reader was chosen as one of the four in first grade to read for the UIL competition. She has been working SO hard, and having to stay after school to take her AR tests because she's been pulled out of class to practice so much. The competition was today and we were informed that they changed Brooke's poem MONDAY, so since she didn't know hers as well as the others she was put on the roster as the alternate.....which meant she did all the work and didn't get to go.
We wanted to make sure she was rewarded for all of her hard work and wasn't focused on the negativity of being left at school, so we took her out of school today at lunch (which was around the time the students competing today left), and we took her to our favorite little sandwich/ ice cream shop to treat her.
We all kept swapping ice cream flavors...M M M M M!
Her favorite thing about this shop isn't even the ice cream, it's the juke box!
After lunch we came home and did her school work, but while doing it I noticed her getting run down and FAST! I am afraid the sniffles have hit, so now that her homework is done here is how she is spending the rest of the afternoon.....watching Christmas movies!
