COOKIE time!

We quarantined ourselves yesterday just in case.  Brooke had gone to bed Saturday night with a fever.  I was afraid all of her normal requests to prepare for Santa would be gone.  One night's rest seemed to cure it, and we are VERY thankful!  No fever since then, although she's been having to do breathing treatments regularly, which means steroids in her system, which means emotions are very unpredictable.....more so than normal for this little girl!

She very quickly proved to us that she was feeling better and more than ready to start having some Christmas fun!  We made our first EVER gingerbread house!  Steven and I both realized we'd never made one ourselves either, so it really was our FIRST!

We knew she was really feeling better when we kept having to tell her to put the candy ON the gingerbread house instead of in her mouth....

We had fun, that's what matters!!  We also set it in a place our high jumping pooch Macy cannot get it.

She would wait for him to put a drop of icing down so she could very quickly cover it with something.

Later that evening we made our Christmas cookies for Santa!  I was in charge of the camera and the oven....and let them get covered in flour and I love listening to them.

Steven cheated before the picture by dusting the flour off of him!  As for the bunny ears....well, Merry Easter....I mean Christmas!  What can I say, she loves to dress up period!!

After they cooled we each got a stack to decorate all by ourselves...

Her FAVORITE part of course because it involved being creative while munching on cookie toppings...

I took a picture of hers mainly to show the bottom right gingerbread people.  She gave the boy boots and eyebrows and the girl a dress and eyelashes.

Fun, fun, fun!  Merry Christmas everyone!
