WHEW!

We had a fun filled weekend. It was pretty enough to go outside a time or two without getting blown over, I got a lot done around the house, I even cleaned out Brooke's closet yet again in order to make room for the next size in clothing for her to outgrow. The funniest thing that happened this weekend however, might not be as funny to anyone else as it was to me.....

Brooke is our only child as you all know, and Steven and I are very content with that fact....especially right now. BUT, a ton of friends and family members ask me constantly when we are going to have another one (don't worry, I don't fret over questions), and now new acquaintances have started asking me too, telling me how unfair it would be to leave Brooke an only child. I started squirming when I was asked by strangers until Saturday....

Saturday, one of my closest friends Angie called and asked if I wanted to come over and meet her grandbaby. Yes, she's a young grandmother. ;o) Of course, Brooke and I both wanted to go see the new baby, Avery Grace.....so, when we went over there I stole her from Grandpa Mike and held her as long as I could....then Angie asked Brooke if SHE wanted to hold her....the entire time I am thinking of how hard it is going to be for me to explain to Brooke why she doesn't NEED a baby sister right now, etc..... Brooke quickly hops up on the couch to hold the baby, Angie positions a pillow on top of her for safety precautions, helps me hand her over and heads off to get the camera....granted I never truly take my hands off of Avery because Brooke hasn't been around babies much and I am SOOOOOOO paranoid with new babies. Brooke put all of my worries about another child at TOTAL ease that day.....after about 30 seconds max of holding Avery she tossed her as far away as she could get her and told me she was going to play with the fire truck instead!! For starters, I am so glad I had my hands on her....and I am also glad Angie didn't have time to snap a picture of that!!! Brooke did ask if we were going to take our new baby home....to which I replied, she's not ours....and she hasn't uttered another word about a baby......WHEW!!!

This pic is a hat Nana gave her for Easter last year that she loves to wear around the house, but I interrupted her drawing....hence the look.

This is when she realized I was taking pictures, "CHEESE!"
