I was SO not ready for Steven to head back to work today. Brooke and I enjoyed having him around this last week, but the saying all good things must come to an end applies to his vacation. Every single morning last week Brooke walked in our room when she woke up, very chipper and excited to wake her Daddy up. This morning.....she knew he was already gone and didn't even bother walking all the way into our bedroom. This last week with Steven has made me extra appreciative for my wonderful family. I would like to think I am always appreciative, but the last week I have been staring at my awesome family with a renewed sense of awe. Everything Brooke does these days makes me giggle....even when it probably shouldn't. She is such a hoot, and SO her Daddy's child. I cannot fully capture how beautiful I think she is on camera, or her personality.....but that doesn't stop me from taking tons of pictures.
Having a daughter is SO much fun. I am sure boys are fun too, but since I know nothing about that I will talk about what I am learning. Having a girl, I get the best of both worlds.....the first two pics are of Brooke Saturday.....aka, Tomboy Brooke. She had to wear a baseball cap all day, shorts, a back pack and most of the afternoon she wore big green rain boots. She only played with balls, cars and tools.
Then came Sunday. She wanted to wear a beautiful little dress her Nana made her, then to top it all off she wore Tinkerbell shoes, a princess dress, a tiara, wings, and her backpack all afternoon. She only played with jewelry, baby dolls, and dishes.
I hate that this picture is blurry....because I absolutely LOVE the smile on her angelic face. Yes, I am TOTALLY partial but have come to the conclusion that as her Mommy I am supposed to be! She melts my heart. And, when I hear her and Steven together it just makes me so sentimental. I love hearing how they interact with one another. The patience he has with her is unlike any other.
