Playing is hard work!

What a fun, relaxing week this has been for myself and Brooke. I realize more and more every day that playdates aren't only great for Brooke and teaching her to share and socialize, but they are awesome for me, as an often isolated Mommy too. Our week in a nutshell....playdate, after playdate, after playdate....and we have both loved every single one.

The first one we had this week was a playdate with 4 other 3 year old girls. Can you imagine the squealing, giggling and screaming that came out of that house?! It worked out SO well, and they all played great together while us mom's sat and did our fair share of giggling. I took the camera, but had so much fun visiting that I didn't even get it out of my purse....shame on me I know!

The second one, we invited one of our favorite's over (Mr. Aiden) and another girl friend that hasn't been introduced on the blog before. We normally go swimming once a week, but the last couple of week's it's been raining, so we opted to invite a swimming buddy over here. The funniest thing about this play date is that I fully expected Aiden to be the most boyish one....since he IS A BOY! The other little girl was the tomboy of the group and gave Aiden a run for his money for sure! It is so funny to watch the different personalites come through. Normally Brooke will let Aiden do anything and will do anything he wants to do, but this other girl wasn't about to let Aiden decide what they played....it was hilarious.

Another playdate was actually more of a visit with Aiden's Momma for me. The pictures below are of Brooke and Aiden playing out in our backyard while Angie and I got in some girl gab time. Brooke loves her Aiden....and I think Aiden is pretty partial to Brooke too. She is quite protective of him. To the point that when his Momma tries to discipline him I have to get Brooke and keep her quiet. She tries to tell his momma that Aiden is okay, he didn't hurt anything....etc....love these kiddoes!

A few fun notes from this week. A first for Brooke....she now officially blames the dog, Cooper for things she gets caught doing. I caught her destroying our bed red handed and when I asked her about it her reply was, "Momma, Cooper did it not me." REALLY!? Already!

I have always told Brooke she can be anything she wants to be when she grows up. Normally she will ask me if she can be a princess, or a policeman, or a music teacher.....but I asked her yesterday what she was going to be when she grew up just as a fun conversation starter and her response was, "Momma, I want to be a grandmother when I grow up." How cute is that?! Apparently her Grandmother's are doing something right in order for her at age three to already want to be one!

We are looking forward to a good weekend....and as a teaser....family pics coming up soon!
