I haven't blogged in nearly a week because Brooke and I have had SO much fun with my parents here that I have hardly been on the computer. I am, however, pretty bad at taking pictures of Brooke WITH my folks for some reason. Brooke is very blessed to have four very wonderful grandparents (not including greats) who want to be a part of her life. I love the way she doesn't refer to them as her grandparents. Instead she calls them her friends....gotta love that!
This is the first visit from my parents in a while where it didn't feel as though we had an agenda of any sort, so it was like a mini vacation for me. Although, I didn't go anywhere, when Granny is here Brooke will not 'let' me do anything for her or with her, she wants Granny to do it. SO, I sat on my rear visiting with my good ole pops for a while and watching and laughing at Brooke and Granny.
While my folks were here we had typical West Texas weather. HOT one day, cool the next and stormy the next. But, we took advantage of the hot day with a wacky wildflower sprinkler and a princess swimsuit.
Posing before the fun began.
Running when the sprinkler started with the highest pitched squeal I have ever heard come out of my child.
Whew, much better. She was happy as long as SHE was in control of who the water squirted.
Granny was the only one brave enough to go 'help' her with the sprinkler. And you see where that got her.....
Getting brave enough to take a drink.
Taking a breather and enjoying some shade. I made fresh popsicles by just squeezing fresh watermelon down in the popsicle mold, so technically we were eating sorbet. Brooke loved her popsicle and little did she know it was good for her....no sugar added....gotta like that! Notice Cooper staring at her popsicle.
I sent this picture for a couple of reasons....one, note the tippie toes still, and two, note the really long no longer babyish legs already, check out those calf muscles.....man she is growing up fast!
Back inside in the a/c Brooke is helping Grandad navigate a game of spider solitaire. I am sure she was SO much help!
We had a great time and weren't ready for them to leave. But, when they did we both vegged like we'd been worn out. I think Brooke is still recuperating from all the hard playing she did with Granny, and poor Granny is probably sleeping really well at night too.
